ICMG Ventures（本社：6 Temasek Boulevard, #42-02 Suntec Tower 4 代表取締役：舩橋元）は、この度シンガポール金融庁(Monetary Authority of Singapore: MAS)からベンチャーキャピタルファンド運用ライセンス(VCFMライセンス)を取得しましたので、お知らせいたします。
既に日本国内（ICMG共創ファンド1号）では、これまでのアジアのスタートアップと日本企業の共創活動実績を評価され経済産業省より産業競争力強化法における外部経営資源活用促進投資事業者として認定を受けており、今回MASのVCFMライセンスを取得したことで、よりアジアでの投資及び日本企業のアジア展開の支援を加速させることが可能となりました。また、今回のライセンス取得により、経済産業省の外部経営資源活用促進投資事業者認定及びMASのVCFMライセンス両方を取得した初の企業となりました。
本ライセンスを活用してICMG共創ファンド2号では、シンガポールを拠点にファンド運用を開始し、インドやアジアのネクストユニコーンとなるグローバルスタートアップへ投資を行い、日本企業とクロスボーダーに共創事業を加速してまいります。
現在ICMGグループが運用するICMG共創ファンド1号は、国内のスタートアップ投資だけでなく、インドや東南アジアのネクストユニコーンとなるスタートアップへグローバルのトップVCと共同出資を行い、出資先が有する現地のネットワークや顧客基盤、事業開発ノウハウを活用しながら、ICMGグループがネットワークを有する日本企業とのオープンイノベーションを支援してまいりました。特にアジアの業界特化型のB2B EコマースへグローバルのトップVCであるSequoia CapitalやTiger Global等と出資を行い、出資後、日本のクオリティの高いプロダクトを出資先プラットフォームに乗せることで、日本企業のアジア展開の支援を行っています。
シンガポールはBloombergやWorld Economic Forum等グローバルの多様な指標にて、世界トップのイノベーションハブとして位置付けられており、テックスタートアップやそれを取り巻く数多くのインキュベータ、VC、グローバル企業等の集積地として強固なエコシステムを有しています。ICMG Ventures代表の舩橋はシンガポール在住7年で、Sequoia CapitalやJungle Ventures、Google、Tiger Global等のグローバルVCとの共同投資をインド及びアジアで実行してきました。
ICMG Venturesは本ライセンスを活用し、同国を拠点にネクストユニコーン企業への投資・事業機会を発掘していきつつ、ICMGのコア領域であるイノベーション事業との連携を行うことで、投資後の日本企業との共創活動を実装まで伴走し、日本企業、グローバルスタートアップ相互の価値創造支援を強化してまいります。
本ライセンスの取得により、日本企業のグローバル投資事業をサポートするシンガポールベースのCVCの運用支援も可能となります。共創ファンド1号で蓄積している関係資本や知見を活かし、ICMGによるスタートアップ投資事業を一層のこと発展させてまいります。
